How long do I need to run my pool filter?

As to running your filter, 8 hours a day is plenty when water temperatures are below 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Some even run it as little as six hours in such conditions. But in the hot season or when you have the water well heated, you should run the filter 10 to 12 hours per day typically.
