The Rookery’s amenity center pool was built for a neighborhood, not a single family. The free-form pool covers about 10,288 square feet and holds 248,406 gallons, with room for up to 195 swimmers at once.

Two 45-foot zero-entry beaches sit at opposite ends, so the youngest swimmers can wade in from either side while the open center stays clear for swimming. The water is never deeper than 4 feet. The shallow end doubles as a splash zone with fifteen water features, from a tipping bucket and geyser bubblers to aqua columns, directional jets and a pair of alligators.

A perimeter gutter runs the full freeform edge, so the water sits flush with the deck. Behind the fence, twin sand filters, a 2,000-gallon collector tank and a filtration system turning over 975 gallons a minute keep it clear all season. The pool is engineered and permitted by the health department.

Designer’s note

A residential pool holds a family; this one holds a neighborhood. The Rookery’s amenity pool is built around two zero-entry beaches at opposite ends, so toddlers wade in from either side while the open center stays clear for real swimming — and the splash zone brings the fun to the shallow end: a tipping bucket, geyser bubblers, aqua columns, directional jets, and a pair of grinning alligators, fifteen water features in all. The detail most people never notice is the one we’re proudest of: a full perimeter gutter edge, formed level to within a quarter inch around the entire freeform shoreline, so the water sits flush with the deck like a lagoon. Behind the fence, the equipment tells the commercial story — twin oversized sand filters, a 2,000-gallon collector tank, and a filtration plant turning over 975 gallons a minute to keep water this size resort-clear all season. Engineered, health-department permitted, and built to take a thousand cannonballs a summer.
